Sadly, one of American Girl's prettiest dolls is being archived.
Caroline Abbott, the sailing princess with the curly golden locks and one of a kind eyes, is being retired as soon as her collection sells out.
Most of us saw this coming. There was subtle hints now and then when American Girl dropped them, thinking no one would notice (such as not giving Caroline anything new in the BeForever release and having her parlor set half off a few months ago).
According to my personal shopper at American Girl Place Boston, the reason Caroline Abbott is being retired isn't a secret. Caroline's beautiful hair has proven to be a challenge for most younger (and even older) girls. It may be puzzling about why they are retiring Caroline, seeing as though she is quite common among AGIGers and AGTubers. Although Caroline herself was a great seller, her collection didn't sell well, because most people modernize her and don't buy many of her clothes or accessories.
I'm very sad that I never had the chance to get much of her collection while it lasted ( I was fortunate enough to get her!), but I am looking forward to Maryellen in August!
