Birthday Party Ideas

A lot of people like to have AG themed birthday parties. So here are some ideas.

AG Tea Party
When my sister turned five, she had an American Girl Doll Tea Party. We found lots of card board boxes (like the kind bulk printer paper comes in) and covered them with pink plastic table cloths that we cut to fit. This kind of box could fit about four dolls. Also on the tables were little bud vases filled with flowers and a teacup and plate for each doll. We went to the AG Place the day before, and got star stickers and they also gave us the smallest size AG bag. (People at the AG Stores are SO helpful!) We used the bags as doll goody bags and filled them with small chocolates. We used the star stickers as name tags. When the girls arrived, we let them pick a spot for their doll at one of the "tables". Then we played party games. I dressed up as Mia St. Clair (she was GOTY that year and I had the girl-sized outfit) and signed "autographs" for the little girls on a printed picture of the Mia doll (We got 8x10 photos printed at Staples). The little girls loved this. Then they all sat at the dining room table and ate grilled cheese, cupcakes, and drank pink lemonade in their teacups while I read them a chapter of the Meet Mia book by Laurence Yep. The little girls had a lot of fun with their dolls at that party.

AG Place Sleepover
Another idea is to have everyone meet at your house and then head to whichever AG Place you are closest to. Have each girl bring their own money and shop for about 30-45 mins. Then you could go to the bistro ( if that AG Place has one) and eat a dinner/lunch there. Then go back home and play AG dolls. After watch an AG movie (Molly, Samantha, Felicity, Kit, Chrissa, McKenna, Isabelle, Grace) which are available at AG Places and Walmart.

AG Playdate
If you are looking for a more cost effective way to celebrate you and your doll- you can just have an American Girl playdate.  My friends and I have loved to get together with all of our dolls and outfits.  We dress them up and sometimes make iMovies with the dolls.  One theme we have used very often is "McKenna"which is so fun, especially after the Olympics in London.  Have cake and call it a day!
